We could not have asked for better weather today. We were met this morning with less than 2 foot seas and a beautiful clear sky. The Fishing was just as pleasant with nice solid Red Snapper and a fast limit of Kingfish. Even managed to chum up a couple nice Gray Snapper. We are pleased to see that our Snapper season has been extended and now have a few more days open to fish for them. Looking forward to what looks to be a really nice first week of the 2013 Season. Currently the Red Snapper season has been set from June 1 to June 12 2013 , There may be a recomendation to add about 400.000 lbs to this years alocation . If it changes the date and gives us a few more days I will update. But for now ,if you want to fish for red snapper you will need to book a trip in the first 12 days of June. Capt. Mike J.
The Redfish have been consistent on the nearshore trips. These fish give you the ability to battle fish over 20 pounds without the Expense or the Time spent on a longer boat ride. Note the Freeport Skyline in the background.
This trip will stay good through the End of May. . Capt Mike Love fishing this time of year. The cold water brings our reef fish in closer than we see them in the summer and makes for great days on the water. Amberjack and Vermillion Snapper Fishing has been good as of late. We can Fish for Amberjacks until the End of May and then they will be closed for two months. Come and get them while you can ! Red Snapper Season is going strong and the fishing is as good as its been in years. The weather has held out for us for over 3 weeks now and looks to continue to do so fro the forseable future. The Dorado are finally showin up in fishable numbers as well. We have about 33 days of snapper season left and will continue to honor the week day special though July 18th.
