Mike,
Daniel, Jacob, Benji and I had great time fishing. It will be an experience we will not forget. We talked about fishing (whocaught more, who caught the biggest fish etc……) from the time we left the dock, through dinner last night and on the way home to Decatur today. Thank you for a great fishingtrip experience. We will be back!

PS. I do not see how you guy’sdo it every day. Cody is a hard worker and did a good job, please thank him
for us.

Mike and Coty-
I wanted to say a huge thank you to both of you for our fishing trip last Wednesday. We all had a fantastic time. My dad turns 70 this summer and deep sea fishing is something he has always wanted
to try. He really enjoyed himself - already talking about going again sometime. It was a real pleasure being out on the boat with you. Both of you made it a great trip we couldn't ask for anything more. I know by
looking at your website that you were very close to your dad so you understand how I felt getting to enjoy this with my dad and son. Thanks again hope to see you again

I want to express my appreciation for the great fishing trip you supplied for my family. Your service is awesome and I'll recommend you to everybody I see. I figured that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I tell you now, just wait til next year and I'll probably be back there wanting you to take me fishing. Wed. was an awesome day for all of us. It was our first but not our last.
Thanks Again

Mike,
My friend, Jay Sadler, and I were on a charter yesterday with Captain Coby Smith and his deckhand John. I want to let you know I was truly impressed with these young men. Their work ethic and knowledge of Gulf fishing was very impressive. We had an absolute blast, caught lots of great fish, and will certainly make another run next summer.
I am sorry that we did not get to meet and fish with you, but appreciate you hooking us up with these outstanding anglers. I posted a report on 2coolfishing as well. My user name is salth2o. I have attached a few photos, as per Coby’s request.

Mike,
Thank you for taking the kids out Wednesday morning. They are still talking about it. I had to get the images printed that day so they could tell their friends that day. We ran in to your friend that was out next to us fishing, we saw him at the Red Snapper Inn and he could tell you that is all the kids talked about. It was the highlight of their trip. We are going to do it again next time we come down there.
Thank you again,
Larry Letzer

I would just like to thank Mike Hutto for one of the most exciting days on water that my kids and I have ever had. As a capt you made all the right moves and all the right lure changes, Simply put you were so much better than what we had hoped for. WE WILL BE BACK

I took my wife and four kids on our annual offshore fishing trip with Cowboy Charters guide Mike Jennings. I have gone with Mike several times myself but this was our first trip as a family.
The kids said it was their best time ever. We limited on Kings 12 total and snappers 24 total and caught numerous other fish and were at the dock by 3pm.
Mike is a heck of a guide and knows how to find the fish. We looked for weedlines and shrimp boats but could find nothing. Nevertheless, he still put us on some really nice fish and we had a great time. This was done on a day when most of the other boats had very few fish on ice.
If you want a good offshore trip I highly recommend this guy for your next trip.

.......................................................................................................
To sum it up, this was the best offshore experience I have ever had. Capt. Mike's whole operation is Class A all the way. The boat is top notch, with every amenity you could ask for and then some. It's the boat we all dream of being able to own. The tackle is high quality and Mike is a real pro with everything including finding the fish, rigging you up fast, giving advice, making conversation, boating the big ones, and cleaning them when you get back. Even the music was great.
I've had a fair amount of deep water experience, but it has been YEARS. I can truly say I learned so much on this trip, I feel like I was quite a green horn without even knowing it. Mike is a great teacher. He was able to teach me without making me feel like an idiot. This is probably the most important thing a charter captain can offer less experienced customers. If you book a trip on the "Cowboy Way", you will learn a lot, catch a lot of fish, and HAVE A GREAT TIME DOING IT.
A very special and personal thanks to Captain Mike Jennings, Truly memories for a lifetime.

Mike I guess instead of gettin a rope, we need to get you a star and put by your name on it for being one of the absolute top captains in our area....
Matter of fact, its of my opinion that within a 60 mile radius of Surfside Texas, there are some of the top offshore fishing guides in the whole Gulf of Mexico from Brownsville to Key West.... Its great guides like Mike and others near by, that make many of us proud to tell folks when we are on vacation in other states or countries that "where I come from, our guides are much better than yalls", "they catch fish and not customers wallets on a expensive boat ride

My friend and I met Capt. Coby and his deckhand John at the dock at 5:30am and headed to find some fish. As the sun rose over the horizon we were welcomed to absolutely FLAT seas. The gulf looked like glass.
Our first stop found us amid a large group of nice King fish and we boated our limit. While there I hooked and boated a 35-40# Ling that, according to Coby, "was a great bonus fish". We also caught a nice little Sharp Nose shark.
At our next stop we caught our limit of Beeliners. They aren't fighters, but I hear they taste awesome! I can't wait to get some cooked up tonight.
After this we made our way fout to find some Amber Jack. I hooked up with an undersized one pretty quick and we were all broken off a few time on some definite toads! My buddy, Jay, finally hooked up with a good AJ and boated it. A little later we caught a Cuda. With only one AJ in the box we hit a few spots,
but never could make it happen. We make a move and pick up a little extra bait
and go make one last drop. It was a good call by the Captain and I hook up.
After a fun fight, I boat a 38-40# Amber Jack.
It was getting late in the day and we had a long run back to the dock so we head home. On the way back we were crashed out on the bean bags, when the boat slows down and Cody says lets hit these two spots, there may be some fish here. It would have been easy for him to keep on cruising and not make those last two stops, but he was still working and that truly impressed me.
Throughout the duration of the trip Cody and John worked their butts off for us!
Thanks to Captain Mike Jennings for helping set this up and we will certainly do this again next summer.-

Well, besides the ocean looking as dirty green as you could imagine we ventured a trip w/Cowboy Charters and Cpt. Jennings. There is a lot to say about a procat...4-6ft waves constant until time to reel in of course! The ocean was laying down slowly but surely towards the afternoon. We were glad to be on something that stable though.
Myself and a few buds from work were fortunate enough to fish w/a captain that felt confident enough to go out Friday after the depression moved on by and still put us on the fish. Hard to find quality snapper w/in 15 miles but Cowboy hit up a couple spots and found them. We driftfished a stem, 5-6 passes, w/little luck except the mackerel. The water was so cloudy that cowboy knew it would be hard to chum up the kings but my good
friend Gordan (came down south for biz trip from NYCity) was lucky enough to land the spanish. His first offshore catch.
Next moved to some structure nearby and the action was nonstop! For the next hour or so we slammed the snapper...lots of just barely undersize...picked out the solid keepers. We were back at Bridgebait by 2pm and back in htown by 5.
Many thanks to Cowboy Charters and Captain Jennings. We also cant forget Coby who couldnt have been a better deck hand. The four of us had a wonderful time...despite the conditions. This was really cool b/c our yankee friend was able to get a teaser of some gulf of mexico fishing. Next time he comes down you know we'll be calling Captain Jennings....aj's and tuna next time? Thanks captain!

Went out with Cowboy Charters and Capt. Mike Jennings today. We took pictures but they have not been developed as of yet. Party of 3 and we caught 35 bull reds all over 36". 3 tagged and the rest caught and released
In addition we caught 15 Black Drum all over 30" so they went back also.
Prior to the Bull Reds and Black Drum we hit the snapper and caught our limit by 8:30 AM. Biggest around 7 lbs.
The guy ia a very good guide and this is my thrid trip with him. Brand new ProKat Boat and the guy works his tail off to put you on the fish.

We woke up on Saturday AM to the loving sounds of mother nature and she was MAD!!! Thunderstorms, etc around 0530 in Clute. We checked out the RADAR and saw that the end was near, so we headed on to Bridge Bait to meet up with Capt. Mike Jennings of Cowboy Charters.
We finally get in the water at 0630 and off we go, after a very comfortable ride we end up at a set of shrimp boats that are clearing off their bycatch and can not compete with the 1000s of pounds of chum that were in the water, so, we opt to check them on the way back in. We keep heading towards the "Intersection" and hit a few humps that produce almost a complete limit of Kings to 30lbs, and a couple of Dog Snapper. We keep cruising and find a shrimp boat in "rest", we
pull up and the remora are plentiful, so we chum a little bit and here comes a BIG group of ling, there were at least 6 that we'd see on 1 side of the boat at a time. We instantly hook up on 2 that were 40-42" and the all hell breaks loose.
As the other side of the boat hooks up on 1 more ling and 2 dorado! We are in complete pandemonium (heaven) at this time with 5 out of 6 rods hooked up and the Captain and deck hand running around like crazy. We finally boat 2/3 ling and both dorado.
That pretty well blew out that spot, so we then completed our journey to the Intersection, there we got involved with the AJs and brought 3 on board with a couple that didn't make the cut. During this adventure, the barracuda were being somewhat of a pain and one of our least experienced fishermen (bass type fisherman), hooks into what he too thinks is a cuda and is cussing it, I look around and find a dang WAHOO in mid air and yell at him to bring it in, of course, he had his line completely slacked (he was a little spooked by the teeth
on the cudas) in hopes of the "cuda" (wahoo) coming off... That would be the only wahoo of the day.
It was beginning to be time to start our way back, so we started going in and pulled up to another shrimp boat, started chumming, and here come the bonita, so the Captain says keep chumming, and then, here comes a Blackfin Tuna from the depths and then another, we hook into 3 and all 3 spit the hook (we'll see them
another day).
We had an extremely pleasant day with an outstanding Captain and a deck hand that was very willing to learn (and eat alot of fried chicken). Thanks again Cowboy Charters for an outstanding trip and my first AJ!

My hat is off to Capt. Mike Jennings he worked his butt off. And I will go out with him again. Hopefully I'll get my trophy. Yeah Mike even called me a fish snob because I didn't want any king fish. HA HA ! But if you want a whole bunch of fish and more fun than should be legal go with Cowboy Charters.
