We could not have asked for better weather today. We were met this morning with less than 2 foot seas and a beautiful clear sky. The Fishing was just as pleasant with nice solid Red Snapper and a fast limit of Kingfish. Even managed to chum up a couple nice Gray Snapper. We are pleased to see that our Snapper season has been extended and now have a few more days open to fish for them. Looking forward to what looks to be a really nice first week of the 2013 Season. Another good day behind us ! Here is one of our our 6 man limit of Jack. Amberjack season ends May 31, 2013 and reopens August 1, 2013 for the remainder of the year.
This Weekend was better than the last. The Nearshore fishing has been getting better by the day. We have seen a lot of Bull Redfish and Black Drum for a few weeks now , but the Sharks have shown up in force over the last few days. That tells us a lot about the migration of other fish as well. The Fishing will just keep heating up right along with the water temps. Capt. Mike J.
This Amberjack was caught by Clay on Friday May 4th . We needed 3 to finish out a limit and they came on 3 drops. The Jack fishing is about as good as it gets right now as we wind down the first half of this years split season. The first half of the season ends this month. Then we will be swaping gears to Red Snapper. Looking forward to another great Summer
